Ireland Golf Transportation

If you are playing Royal County Down on the Tuesday and Royal Portrush on the Thursday, the drive between them is around two hours and the tee time will not wait. A driver who knows the roads, carries the clubs and is there when the round finishes is the difference between a golf trip that works and one spent watching the clock.

Our Ireland golf transportation moves golfers around Ireland and Northern Ireland throughout the season, from a single fourball to a society of twenty or more. Our chauffeurs play, which matters more than it sounds when someone has to judge that the round is running forty minutes long and the next booking needs shifting.

What you get:

  • Collection from Dublin Airport, Belfast International or Belfast City with clubs and luggage
  • Transfers between courses, hotels and airports across the whole island
  • Vehicles with genuine capacity for bags and trolleys rather than a boot that just about closes

The Courses We Cover

The Northern Links

Royal Portrush sits on the Causeway Coast and hosted the Open in 2019 and again in 2025. It is about an hour and a half from Belfast, and the run up the Antrim coast is worth taking slowly if the tee time allows.

Royal County Down at Newcastle lies under the Mourne Mountains and is regularly placed among the finest links courses anywhere. Around forty-five minutes from Belfast.

Castlerock, Portstewart and Ardglass are the ones visiting golfers add when they find a spare day, and all three work comfortably as a return trip from Belfast.

Dublin and the East

Portmarnock, The Island, Royal Dublin and The European Club all sit within an hour of Dublin Airport. The K Club at Straffan, which hosted the Ryder Cup in 2006, is roughly forty minutes west of the city.

Most visiting parties fly into Dublin, play the eastern courses and then head north, or run it in reverse. Either way the transfer between Dublin and the northern links is about two hours, and it is the leg people underestimate when they plan to sort transport on the day.

The West and South

Ballybunion, Lahinch, Waterville and Old Head of Kinsale run down the Atlantic coast. These are longer journeys and belong in a multi-day itinerary rather than a day trip from Belfast or Dublin.

How a Golf Trip Runs

Most trips take a similar shape. You land, we collect you and the clubs, and you go straight to the first hotel. After that we work from your tee sheet rather than a timetable.

Rounds overrun. Weather moves things around. Somebody decides they want another nine. A private vehicle absorbs all of that because it is yours for the day and not shared with anyone else.

For larger groups we run more than one vehicle and keep the party together. For societies and corporate days we cover the full schedule, including the run back after dinner.

Vehicles and Luggage

Ireland Golf Transportation

We operate Mercedes V-Class and S-Class vehicles. The V-Class takes a fourball with full bags and trolleys without anyone travelling with a holdall on their knees, which sounds obvious until it has happened to you.

Tell us the bag count as well as the passenger count when you enquire. Four golfers with fourteen clubs each and soft-sided travel covers is a different vehicle from four golfers travelling light.

Working With Golf Agents

We work alongside golf travel agents and club management on tee times and scheduling. If your trip is booked through a specialist operator, send us the itinerary and we will work to it directly.

If you are arranging the trip yourself, tell us the courses and dates and we will tell you honestly what is achievable and what is not. Some combinations that look fine on a map do not work once you account for a morning tee time and a two-hour transfer.

Adding Non-Golf Days

Most trips include at least one day off the course, and Portrush is twenty minutes from the Giant’s Causeway, so it makes sense to build it in.

Our private Giant’s Causeway tour covers the coast including Carrick-a-Rede and the Dark Hedges. For a rest day closer to Belfast, the Belfast and Titanic tour works well, and our day tours across Northern Ireland cover the alternatives. Partners who are not playing often take one of these while the round is on.

Airport Transfers

We collect from Belfast International and Belfast City airports, and we run the Belfast to Dublin Airport transfer regularly for parties flying in or out of the Republic.

If your trip includes corporate golf or you need vehicles for business travel alongside the golf, our Belfast executive travel service covers that.

Ireland Golf Transportation Practical Notes

Book early for summer. Peak season on the northern links runs May to September and vehicles commit months ahead.

Give us tee times, not just dates. The whole schedule is built backwards from them.

Allow properly for the north and south transfer. Dublin to Newcastle or Portrush is a real journey.

Say if anyone is not playing. We can often run a separate itinerary for the rest of the party.

Common Questions

Do you carry clubs?

Yes. Vehicles are selected on luggage capacity, not just seats.

Can you handle a society of sixteen or more?

Yes, across multiple vehicles running together to the same schedule.

Do you cover both Northern Ireland and the Republic?

Yes. There is no border formality and we operate across the whole island.

What happens if the round runs long?

Your driver waits. That is the point of a private vehicle rather than a scheduled transfer.

Can you collect from Dublin Airport for a trip playing in Northern Ireland?

Yes, and it is a common request. Around two hours.

Do you arrange tee times or hotels?

We handle transport. Most parties book through a golf travel specialist and we work to their itinerary, though we are happy to advise on what is realistic.

Is there a minimum booking?

Send us the dates and course list and we will quote against the actual schedule.

Who will be driving?

A chauffeur who plays and holds a professional guiding qualification. You can read about our guiding background.
